People don't know how to prevent text strings with capitals from turning into WikiWords.

Like when I talk about Ronald McDonald, I don't plan to write an article about "McDonald".
I know there's some way to stop such strings from turning into WikiWords, but most people don't know this, and most people don't look it up.

I think users fail to do this task because it's not intuitive how to prevent this.
I think the only way to fix this is to move from JammedTogetherWord syntax to [some bracket style] syntax.

No``Link NoLink is no link I am surprised too. 
I find this behavior is highly annoying and I certainly wouldn't expect non-technical wiki users to deal with it.
I would not be surprised if non-technical wiki users look more often at HelpOnMoinWikiSyntax than experienced ones (if they know that page). In our wikis some users have written their own Syntaxreference with often used syntax elements and they share those pages to others. Sometimes they do use the macro RecommendPage from MacroMarket.
We are willing to change the Camelcase+freelink link pattern in the future to freelinks ([[ ]]) only, but we can't do it currently. The most important blockers are that we need a lot of help for this change from more than 40 translators. And we are currently busy with merging all the student repositories into the main code base. -- ReimarBauer 2008-11-27 22:51:45
