22-AUG-2001: As a new user I had some questions that I was able to answer myself after a quick look to MoinMoinTodo and on the MoinMoin Project Homepage:
- Q: can users autenticate themselves with username/password instead of the numerical ID?
A username and password should be sufficient to log in (as with virtually other web site on the net).
A: in CVS now A2: CVS code can send the ID via email, if a SMTP host is configured. Q: can MoinMoin be configured to allow editings only from authenticated users? I understand that this is against WikiNature, but for administrative reasons it would be important to log who and when did what.
A: ACLs are in CVS now. A2: CVS code also has an "offical" way via the SecurityPolicy interface.
But I still have some pending questions (help is appreciated):
Q: when is CvsIntegration planned?
A: When someone writes the code.
There will be a storage interface soon which will make this a pluggable extension (still, someone has to write the extension).
21-AUG-2001: I have just downloaded and installed MoinMoin 0.9 into one of our Linux machine (Red Hat Linux 7.1) acting as our project servers.
