Short description

The idea of Creole to develop an common wiki markup is very promissing. It could ease editing very much for people dealing with different engines (and thus different markups). It is also great, that Moin already supports Creole: Whole pages (or at least some subsections) could be marked as Creole language. Here's an idea how to improve that maybe a little bit.

I think it would be nice if someone could choose in his user preferences menu that he always wants to edit pages in Creole only. Alternatively a button in text edit "Edit in Creole" would be nice either. So clicking the button will transform a Moin markup page in a Creole markup page. To get this work, internally this would call for some mechanism to directly transform Moin markup into Creole markup. Maybe having this would also help to solve this http://moinmo.in/MoinMoinBugs/GuiEditorCreolePluginMissingError?? For more on that see also http://www.wikicreole.org/wiki/EditCreoleMode

Discussion

The MoinMoinBugs/GuiEditorCreolePluginMissingError happens because of a missing converter module.

Please do describe only one Feature per request.

This sounds interesting, however not that easy to implement I guess.. +1 -- OliverSiemoneit 2008-04-13 16:46:58

Further Creole support would be a very good idea. +1 MatthewKarlsen 2009-01-17 15:29:30
