How you can help
- in case you are still running a pre-1.5 moin version, please consider upgrading to latest 1.5 release (currently 1.5.8) before you want to upgrade to 1.6.x. Reasons:
- The migration stuff for 1.6 is primarily tested with data taken from a wiki running 1.5.8 code.
- The #moin support channel and also the wiki might be rather busy with 1.6 stuff once it is out and we like to concentrate on supporting 1.6 at that time.
- The changes from 1.5.x to 1.6 are rather big, so better do 2 smaller steps than trying to do a huge version step.
- Translations:
check if your language translation on http://master.moinmo.in/ is complete (there have been some changes due to the new link and macro syntax) - see HelpOnLinking and HelpOnMacros. All stuff in PRE sections needs to get fixed manually!
translators please check correct translation of FindPage - esp. usage of <<AdvancedSearch>>
fix/update translations of HelpOnMacros and HelpOnLinking
fix PRE sections on MoinMaster having old macro or link syntax in them (the converter does not touch PRE sections)
search for [[ used as a macro (wrong in 1.6, it is <<Macro(...)>> there)
you can for example search for [[BR]]
- search for old link, attachment, image syntax
you can for example search for ["
