Show acl indicator for page acl

Sometimes I wish to have the possibility to set something like a pragma rule on a page which shows on the bottom of a page that's there are acl rules defined for this page. By this the rules could probably be checked:

So it would be easier to see what is defined on this page.-- ReimarBauer 2005-05-10 16:11:22

I would like to see something like "You can: read, write, delete" in the page meta data display area. It can be at the bottom, or at a sidebar, or maybe at another tab, like each page has tab for text, meta data and attachments. -- NirSoffer 2005-05-10 17:52:34

From my point of view, one of MoinMoin's greatest advantages over competitors are ACLs. Unfortunately, almost like under Windows NT etc., they seem to be too complex for simple tasks. I would like to use MoinMoin for my blog, homepage, guestbook, picture galleries, personal notes, public notes, calendars, etc. For these purposes a stripped down ACL implementation like the plain old security system of UNIX file systems would be totally sufficient: "just" implement an "ACL GUI mode" which hides the "#acl" lines from the user and displays them in form of rw(x) checkboxes for user/group/world and a selection box to choose a group. Every Linux user/admin knows that security system and could immediately and securely use it. Group files should also be replaced by GUIs. And one should not forget one thing: the most secure security system is probably the one which is best understood by everyone. For myself, it would be sufficient to have two check boxes on top of each page -- public readable and writable -- plus a group selection list and a simple group editor. -- MSt

I'd love to see ACL status on every page and a GUI for editing ACLs. Thanks. -- Pablos.

At least we should show somehow for people with access rights who does not be able to see the page where are they on. -- ReimarBauer 2007-10-16 11:31:16
